Hi All:
I just picked this up and waiting for it to come in. 12 inches overall with an 8 inch blade. The spine is pretty thick. I don't know if there are any marking on the blade; hopefully will see it by next week. Curious whether this is a naval dirk or something else. The cross guards seem similar to some naval dirks that I've seen out there. Thanks |

Upon further research, I suspect that this is a later 19th century piece and not a naval dirk. Perhaps Spanish American War period.

Attractive piece, and there is a notable interest in collecting in this field. Still a great deal of history involved, and the 'Spanish Main' was actually still quite active in these more recent times. |

Thanks Jim. I appreciate it.
The seller has graciously agreed to accept it back, returned. Not my period of interest. |
