hello all

i have question about this handle in picture

are is rhino horn??

If this is yours, please post a close-up from the top of the hilt. Despite many myths, only the endgrain will prove what this was made of. (Try the search function for more details and examples.)

Kai is correct that the end grain is the best true proof of rhino, but a thats not Rhino horn.

The auction for this is ended...I was watching. It is a Thouma style Jambiya from Yemen.

I totally agree, the image alone shows it is not Rhino.

Some type of buffalo or cow horn not rhino.

I just checked eBay and this jambiya is still an active auction. So for now this thread is closed.
