			I rather liked this when I found it, being unlike anything else I have but can anyone guess at its nationality. I'm sure the scrip on the blade will be the give away, so if anyone can translate I'd be most grateful.

			As far as the blade goes, there is a similarity between it and the blades of Bulgarian shepherd's knives from the late 19th century. Especially note the almost identical maker's mark on the two examples below. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
	  However, the hilt is completely different, and the arabic (?) script on the blade is also most unusual. Not a shepherd's knife for sure, but probably from the Balkans. Regards, Teodor  |

			Total length is 22", with a blade length of 17".  
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
	Not sure if the blade has ever been shortend but it does look like it may have been rehilted. Not sure how they usually construct this style of hilt but it looks a little odd to me.  |
