Shamshir Cartouche Translation Help

ALEX Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 936	Namaste, Ksbhati This is a very fine wootz blade... fantastic!!!! The cartouche reads: "Walaed Shah Abbas", meaning "Reign of Shah Abbas. It most likely refers to the Safavid king Abbas (1587-1629), but the blade is probably 18th Century Safavid, but hard to say without seeing it complete.
