I have done a little word search looking for a Banjal blade here in the forum and I see Ariel started a thread in May 07 from memory and from the description you put forth Ariel I think this might be the display board you spoke of? Did anyone actually find this Banjal blade type anywhere?
Well it is sitting safe on my wall for now and hopfully someone might shed some light on the blade... regards Gav |

I'll keep this thread updated as I think I can replicate the blade shape from the shadow that is left on the back board.

I see these on Ebay from time to time. Keep an eye out there and maybe you can get a good picture to go from.

Your display is pretty current to what is sold in the shops all over the Philippines. They have been selling Moro weapon displays for 100 years so there is numerous variations. I wouldn't doubt if it is the original PI "souvenir".

Thanks Bill, probably is just that, but considering the $5.50 I payed for it, still a nice reference board. As you mention that they have been selling these type of boards for a hundred years, would you be good enough to share the Banjal blade type that is mentioned here and other threads? It still remains a mystery to myself and other collectors here.
thanks Gavin |
