My first thoughts too. Reminds me of Valiant Co pieces... [ examples here ], [ more ].

However, the curvature of this piece is 'straighter' than the Valiant Co examples.

Me too. But I have seen it somewhere in a local keris shop, exactly the same with that macan (tiger) hilt. The blade sure looks thick.

someone once told me that the ones with 5 holes along the spine were islamic, and represented the 5 pillars of the faith. the older ones had 3 holes, like this one of mine:

(came from an estate sale on ebay, listed as an 'ugly rusty old knife')
