Philippine dagger for ID

Hello friends,

This dagger has silver ferrule, buttcap and scabbard fittings. Looks like real silver, not nickel silver. Can't be sure though. It was oxidised black. No greenish tint at all. I thought the scabbard fittings were steel until I hit them with some polish. Rawhide piece at the top of scabbard like you see on Visayan pieces to hold it in your sash. Tortoise shell wrapping with some bug bites. Silver chape and throat. Monosteel blade that was protected with grease. Beautiful delicately carved hilt that isn't symetrical, but shaped to fit the hand. Brass hilt cast onto the blade. Excellent workmanship all round. Any guesses on the origin welcomed!

This is indeed a Katipunan Philippine-American War piece of Ilokano origin. Illocos Norty was one of the break away provinces and this looks like a high ranking officer's piece. Very nice and congratulations! Thank you for sharing!
