Cowhorn powderflask

Hallo,
For me it's from the 18th.or beginning 19th.century.The flattened hornplates nailed on a wooden construction and the rather flat corpus are typical for powderhorns of the 18th.century.In the 17th.century you often find an iron construction with a steel spring to close the horn and in some cases to portion the gunpowder. Here a simple plug seems to have locked the powderhorn.I am not sure if there is a thread outside.Perhaps for a twist lock ?
