Default Scabbard ID

I've had this for a while. Length O/A is 26.6 inches.

Leather is not in great shape. Crown V (Victoria) suggest , well, Victorian.

Thoughts?

Looks like it would fit a Police Cutlass, also the British Coast Guard used a similar curved blade as did some London dockyard security guards and prison wardens.
A search will show you lots of examples. Parker being the best known manufacturer.

The stamp, crown over V is one of the Dutch ones that's very common on the m1813 Light Cavalry sabres that are housed in the Rijksmuseum.

According to G.R. Hof in his article on the Dutch Light Cavalry sabre No.1 it's Van Deventer's control mark.

Van Deventer took office as acting controller in 1837.

Based on this and the shape, it's likely for one of the Dutch briquetts. Possibly the naval m1818 No.2 boarding sword.
