Here is a pair of Japanese stirrups.
Edo period for sure but no idea if early or late... Oddly enough, I haven't found any other posts on the site that mention them, but perhaps I haven't searched properly. They seem to be signed. The signature is of better quality on one of them. Can anyone translate it ? It could help for fix it.🙂 Idem, does some specialist know if the ́’flower’́ symbol is a famille crest ? Does anyone have any tips or a magic method for restoring the shine to silver inserts without damaging them and remove some rust? Kind regards |

With regard to cleaning the silver without damage....Not sure where you live but there is a product made by Goddards (UK) called Silver Cloth which is available from good Supermarkets. All you need do is lightly rub the silver with the cloth. Works really well.
