Default Barong info pls

Hi all,

sharing this barung recently purchased. An old piece, I believe. But I have 2 questions: a) the scabbard's wooden throat area does not have any 'okir.'2) the rattan bindings on the scabbard suggests this is an old piece. Am I right?(newer ones have rattan binding throughout the scabbard?).

This one is from what tribe?

Regards

Yves

If i am not mistaken the style of the hilt implies it is not particularly old. Of course, it might be a later addition.

Agreed! But it's a nice one, silver ferrule and nice carvings at the handle. From Mindanao?
