Just saw this thread; I'm very saddened at the passing of this very knowledgeale and personable gentleman.

It has been said that when a man dies, it is as though a vast library has been burned. All too true in this case.

Very sad news, Fernando was an incredibly enthusiastic student of arms and always one to share knowledge. He was also generous, I have in my collection, half a world away, a small cannon ball from the Lines of the Torres Vedras and mounted above my doorbell is a brass plaque with an artillery scene that he thought I might like. RIP my friend.

That is indeed very saddening news...Fernando was a fantastic student and teacher, helpful and patient, with some of us, less knowledgeable. May he rest in peace.

I was deeply saddened to discover the passing of this remarkable collector. His expertise and passion for antique weapons enriched our community immensely.
