				 | Plug bayonet

Hello I need a little help to identify this plug bayonet that I think has some words on the blade but now only a little traces have. I want to know how old it is and from what country. It’s looks like a James II plug bayonet. Thank you in advance

It looks like a renewed piece. I would err on the side of caution to name the blade type within this incorrect restoration. |

Certainly not a plug bayonet; their grips never reduce the taper towards the cross guard ! . |

Certainly the handle is not suitable for a plug bayonet, the blade is of similar form but difficult to ascertain if it is of that age etc. Below is a British plug. |

Theads closed in view of author's attempt to enquire on countless pieces still in active commercial venues. . Last edited by fernando; 3rd January 2024 at 05:00 PM. |
