			Quite often, they are a marriage of an old blade and a new garish handle or  vice versa. 
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
			India is still full of old junk and,- occasionally,- old masterpieces. Just now, a combination sword with a glorious 16-17 century handle with virtually intact gilding but with a munition grade 19 century blade was sold for $9,500 + 25% auction fee.
