This chap must be talking about sabre toothed tigers or has added a little Victorian fire side spice. The tigers tooth I have is 3 1/8 inches in circumference but only 2 6/8 of the tooth is exposed from the upper jaw bone, if you include the root mound then you get 4 to 4 1/2 inches. 5 inches of exposed tooth is more like T,Rex.
