Let's see: the "pommel" looks Philippino or Indonesian, the forward ferrule and S-guard look "Chinese" (in the broad sense), the blade could be from anywhere, but looks Chinese-ish, the sheath could be from any of the above...
Just to be different than Tom Hyle (is that Tom Hoyle in diguise? :-) ), I'll say that it came from a Chinese enclave either in Indonesia or the PI. Neat, weird thing. Thanks for sharing it. BTW, what does the label say? |

Thank you for the info. I had the same guess as being some sort of Chinese sword. Although, the scabbard does have some of the Visayan bolo scabbard characteristics. Fern, Glad to share the pics. The white label says "Philipine Moro Beheading Sword circa WWII" . ![]() Thanks again. |
