Very, very nice and also a good selection of styles. I continue to hope that someday someone will work out the chronology and geography of the different styles. I have long suspected that some are older than the typical label of '19th century.'
I stumbled into replacement tool handles at my local hardware store. A little short at 6 feet, but the right diameter and originating from Indonesia if a pole is desired for display. |

That's a nice little grouping to gather up all in one swoop. Congratulations!

You beat me out of the top one. Can't wait to see your pictures of the complete pieces.
Enjoy the Philippines and Maligayang Pasko! |

The 3 Moro budiak spears arrived at my house last December while I was still away on holiday and I was very happy when I received them. The two twist core budiaks had their shafts cut in two by the seller for shipping reasons but I was able to reconnect them by using brass flagpole connectors I brought from Amazon. The tassel on the suassa ferruled budiak is not original to the piece, I just added it. It's very difficult to get a whole picture of the spears as they are very long, particularly the two twist core ones. In fact I cannot display them indoors standing without hitting the ceiling so using connectors instead of permanently reuniting their shafts is practical for me.
