Hello Michael,

nice Kris, I agree with Ian about age and origin. And good repair at the pommel!
I would polish the blade and give it an etch with vinegar.

Easily done. How dark an etch? Barely enough to show the pattern, gray, or black? I also have ferric chloride, Belgian blueing and other acids.

This was my last restoration. 200 years old. Still shoots.

Of the blades, I did. I can of the cape gun if you wish.

What style of scabbard? I can get kalantas wood.

The base is hosting a sci fi convention and I'm one of the guests. Though I completely understand not driving long distances just to talk blades.
