A finish puuko is a very good possibility, but the mounting of the blade directs also strong to a norwegian or swedish direction. My vote is absolutely scandinavian origin.

I'm no expert. Have just recently gotten interested in Scandinavian knives. If I had to guess, I'd say Norway. Possibly a Bunadskniven, the knife worn with the traditional costume of Norway. Should you decide that you don't want it, just let me know.
