As Galvano pointed out, a sharpened cassowary leg bone is pretty characteristic of Papua. Whether it's from Papua New Guinea or Irian Jaya is anyone's guess. I don't see anything stylistic that would help.
There's a nice description of the use of these daggers by the Miyanmin (central PNG) in Tim Flannery's Throwim Way Leg, which is a fun book in any case. F |
