I no nothing about these things but that is Latin, I think, usually only the chosen people learn Latin at school in the UK. Tim

I have no idea how did I manage to get a reputation of a "Caucasian" guru...
Rivkin is absolutely correct: both the ornament and the narrow split of the pommel are Circassian. They used quite a lot of old European blades , so that also fits. Such a pity the edge is eaten and the scabbard is lost... Still, a wonderful piece! Congratulations! |
