i assume, hopefully, that all the above references to taking shots with these refer to photographs rather than gunpower/wad/lead shot firings.

considering the subject using 'shot(s)' is amusing.

A matter of terminology. The word Brown Bess (or Tower) is applied to a service weapon, with all the punches and inscriptions can be found on a military model
