Always nice looking at these "archaic" style kris and certainly one of these is on my wish list. I do wonder when this junggayan pommel met this hilt as it does not seem original to me, nor does the top band. But i still wouldn't kick this baby down the block for not being 100% original.
It shouldn't be too hard to test your suassa theory by having it tested. Doesn't look that way in the pics, but photos are deceptive. |

David you are right. The blade is certainly much older than the whole hilt. Not unheard of though. There are other examples of these blades later wedded to this type of hilt. The blade was definitely regarded as the true pusaka.
