Wavy dagger from Philippines?

hello
this is my las adquisition, I bought it reciently in ebay, I think a good price to me. is a beatiful dagger, with brass handle and wavy dagger, the handle is a part od a spanish infantry sword model 1867.
It measures 14 5/8 inches long and is heavy due to the brass handle.
The thickness at the hilt is 3/16" which continues up to past half the blade. The thickness at three quarters up the blade decreases to 1/8".

If Filipino, I would say late 19th century and Ilocano from the Spanish influence in the hilt, the tang through the hilt - Luzono, and the wavy blade - Ilocano in this case. I would add officer's grade as well.

What I don't know is if the Spanish imported the wavy blade influence into their tastes from the Philippines.......

Very helpful. I would not rule out a composite piece either. Again the Spanish influence of a Spanish hilt and an Ilocano blade........

Hello Carlos, Congratulation on acquiring this very nice and most interesting dagger. I am not sure of where this dagger originated from but it might help if you could post a photo that shows the design on the pommel better. I wish the scabbard was not missing as it would have also been of great help in identifying where this was made. To me the most unusual feature is the guard arrangement on this piece as it is one that I have not seen before on a Philippine dagger or knife.

Right now I am leaning more towards either Spain or France than the Philippines but first lets see what the design on the pommel might tell us about this.

P.S.
Does the pommel show any signs of where a guard might have once been attached? If it does then this could just be one of those "waste not want not" examples of Philippine ingenuity.
