I don't do shields usually. And sadly my knowledge is low. Still I'd generally agree this looks east side of Africa. Reminds me a bit of this style from Southern Sudan. http://southernsudan.prm.ox.ac.uk/details/1944.10.16/

This type used to be assigned to tribes from south western part o Ethiopia. I am not sure which one is correct (or who is right),in any case you could find them in antique shops in Addis Ababa.
