The placement of the 1926 under the serial number could be a date, but it appears to be stamped with the same die as the serial number. I do wonder about the stamping as it appears a bit rough compared with other serial number stampings. What do others think?

1926 is the date of mfg. That would put it towards the end of production. I would assume, the Arabic mark, is from one of Italy's North African colonies?

IMHO IF the Arabic mark is a "contract" mark, then it would likely have been applied in the factory, as were the marks on the Remington rifles supplied to Egypt.
