the width and look of the wood on the handle are just what you are after. North African weapons are a bit like the sea "water water everywhere but not a drop to drink" I am currently on a search for the very same thing, to build a full compliment of N African knives, real ones seem to be few and far between. I actually ended up buying 3-5 tourist koummyas and 2-3 tourist khodmis before I got a user version of either,I know what you mean.
