			Although it looks like French model 1842 or 1857, the marks are not those used by French. Also the barrel bands in brass do not coincide. 			Hi, This looks very like an 1809/39 Prussian/Potsdam musket with the percussion conversion. I don't think it is exactly this model but as they are not absolutely identical but close enough to have come from the same parentage. The copperplate style L could indicate one of the Bavarian Ludwigs but I would have thought it would be surmounted by/atop a crown if this were the case. I would suggest it would be worthwhile pursuing the 1809/39 route as it may be a variant for a particular unit e.g pioneers or artillerymen? Hope this is of some help. Regards, Norman. P.S.
