				 | Yatagan inscription help. Thanks!

Hello, friends. Someone asked me to ID a yatagan. The only thing I can make out is a date which looks like 1121, which translates to approx.1709 AD. I really don't think the blade is that old. By the looks of it, I would say mid to late 1800s... Could our resident Arabic or Turkish speakers shed some light on this? Thanks! |

you read well the date "1121 (if Hegire)" either "± 1709 AD" I will not advance a real date, at evidence this date is pure fantasy to give an idea, the word "prestige" in English or French (the same) is translated in Arabic ... as ... "PRESTIGE" in Arabic text I think that we are facing as reference, a "prestige date", more than, a date for the yatagan's creation the sentences, a part a citation readable in Arabic, the others should be in Turkish, because, not possible to be played in Arabic "ALLAH RASOUL" either "GOD'S PROPHET "under-meaning; "Mohamed" who is the last God's Prophet" I hope so that Zifir could have the key of the translation, but it's not with a "muftar" (key in Arabic) à + Dom | |
