I would be very hard pressed to attribute this piece to the atlas mountans. The silver work is not similar to the work in the area, nor is the leatherwork normal for the area. No reference material that I am aware of would support it and I personally have never seen anything similar in the area. Best guess would be more south and probally more central africa. The silver work is the question. I do not see berber or taurag influence or symbolism in it.

Must agree with Ward - I also don't see any Berber or Tuareg silver work on it. Plus - most of these from Morocco are made of metal and not horn.

Hello. Does not look Moroccan - or Algerian, or Albanian, or anything else I seen. Hmmmm. But sure is interesting. If you find out any additional information, please post it. A real mystery. Thanks for posting. Rick.
