Mindanao Keris?

Just need your kind input whether these Mindanao pieces are really authentic, I obtained from an old lady saying these are her pusakas, given by the Governor Of Mindanao to her ancestors in the 1800s. Are these really 1800s make?

In my opinion; no, they are not .

They are 20th C. judging from the kris blade and the dress of both swords .

I agree with Rick. Both are mid 20c pieces with modern MOP and hilts. The blade on the kris does not have a separable ganga and is thus mid 20c.

I AGREE WITH RICK AND JOSE PROBABLY POST WW2. I PICKED UP A SIMULAR SWORD NEAR ZAMBOANGA IN THE EARLY 1980'S. SO AT LEAST ITS FROM MINDANAO

THE MOP WORK IS GOOD BUT THEY TOOK SOME SHORTCUTS ON THE WORKMANSHIP OF THE BLADE. I MET THE GUY WHO MADE MINE AND HE DID BETTER WORKMANSHIP ON THE BLADES AND MADE KRIS AND BARONG.
NICE EXAMPLES OF THE TYPE BUT IT IS DIFICULT TO REPLACE THE MISSING MOP IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN ZAMBOANGA.

YES IT HAD A SEPARATE GANJA AND GOOD QUALITY FILE WORK. BLADE THICKNESS WAS GOOD BUT NOT ANY EVIDENCE OF FORGEING FLAWS OR PATTERN, BUT THEN I NEVER ETCHED IT.
