Interesting piece. Missing the hair,the eyes, and the staple (perhaps on both sides of crossguard). A good polish would bring out the silver inlay. Brass chased cap on the middle of the crossguard is unusual and nice. May be laminated. Probably Maranao tribe. Congrats!

thanks, I'm quite pleased.
yes, the brass plate is certainly a plus and a surprise. I got this on Craigslist and the pics did not display enough detail. "with great risk comes great reward!" I already have plans to replace the hair and am considering the staple. Haven't settled on a full cleaning of the blade or just minor. the possible lamination may decide that
