Default Interesting European dagger

I would welcome your ideas about the age , nationality and if possible maker of this dagger. It belongs to a friend of mine . The initials on the pommel are presumably that of the owner , but perhaps the 'daisy' is a makers mark ?

This kind of crossguard and blade shape was typical for small British and French daggers, in the middle and the end of 19th century. And stag handle is typical for hunting knifes.
My wild guess: French hunting dagger, end of 19th century. French because of small letter 'd' in initials. Stands for "de".

Could very well a German dagger, the cap on the hilt you see also by German nickers.

See the attached picture.
