Default IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS POWDER FLASK

I bought this on ebay from u.k,i assume its from afganistan and used for jezail muskets
following was the description seller had posted
AUTHENTIC OLD ANTIQUE

INTERESTING ARAB ISLAMIC TRIBAL PERSIAN GUN POWDER FLASK

LARGE SIZE..APPROX. 21 X 18 X 9 CM

LEATHER BOUND, CARVED WOOD BODY WITH FLUTED IRON NOZZLE AND FITTINGS

THERE IS A SIDE LEAVER THAT SLIDES BACK AND FORTH TO CONTROL A MEASURED QUANTITY OF DISPENSED POWDER

GUARANTEED LATE 1800's,THE REAL THING,NOT A TOURIST ITEM

UNTOUCHED AND UN-CLEANED...

AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE ITEM ... ALL STRONG AND FIRM

Looks good in the pics. Those flasks were used all over Central Asia, they aren't exclusive to the Afghans. This one has had a repair, the spout probably broke at some point. I've seen dated examples from the 1850s-70s. Occasionally you find them with a raised design, usually a trefoil. But they're not generally decorative. Simple and solid, made for use.

Not usually as far west as Azarbaijan, but from Eastern Iran to Chinese Turkestan. I like the cutoff on yours. Nicely done.
