Default Unknown old bolo

I have had this one for several years but never figured exactly where it came from. The blade is about 3/8-inch thick at the hilt, obviously laminated and V-ground. The hilt is NOT full tang, shows some damage near the end, and has a small iron ferrule. The heavy blade measures 11 inches, the handle is 7-8 inches.

It has a Philippine feel for me, but I have trouble placing where.

Ian.

Hello Ian,

my best guess would be that it is from Luzon, because the small ferrule maybe from Batangas? Not all smaller bolos from there has a throughout tang.

Regards,
Detlef
