Good point. I heard the same thing from a former formite and friend. Having an integral selut means less restoration work for me.

Hi Jose,
Most coteng keris have lost their fittings over many decades. I've searched a little bit in old threads, have a look inside and decide! I think that it's not relevant if the handle is from wood or silver. Do you mean pendokok or uwer? This is what I did with the hilt - I cleaned it up and made a new nose for it.
Everything came with it, even the secondary scabbard. However the scabbard was made for this blade. |

I was also told that the selut was integral to the rest of the hilt.
