Default KRIS MARANAO?

Hi friends,

Sharing one of my father's oldest collection. Supposedly a Maranao kris (?) But I have this feeling that it might be Maguindanao?

OAL: 26.26 inches/ blade: 18.5 inches
sheath: lacquered wood with aluminum bands
hilt/pommel: kakatua motif pommel with braided thread(?) on the hilt.

The upper part of the scabbard has a wooden peg(if this is the right term), which, in my opinion is intended for the sword not to slide down the wearer's waist?

Possible age?

Many thanks

Yves
