Default Talibong with stag antler handle

I am posting this picture to get feedback from the members of this forum on a talibong that I have found for sale. Apologizes for the clutter behind this knife but it is in a dealer's display case in antique mall. This talibong is very long, really more of a short sword. Instead of a wooden carved handle, it has a piece of stag (maybe sambar) antler. At the base of the antler is a nice finished piece of brass, and it appears that the same type of brass should have been installed on the other end. There are several nail holes that would indicate this.

I am thinking that this handle is a replacement. The missing brass piece would not have just fallen off, so it might have been removed when someone was fitting the old blade to the new handle. I was able to hold the knife and grip the handle. It seems to work well with the long blade. Because of this antler handle I held off purchasing the talibong, as the price was a bit high for me until I found out more information. Has anyone else seen a talibong with an antler handle? Or something other than carved wood?
