Hello Marius

An excellent dagger. Congratulations.
You asked a good question.
In my opinion, the flowers on both sides of the blade near the hilt are similar in style to the Persian ones.
But when I look at the spine of the blade, the decor closer to the hilt reminds me of the decor on the spine of the Afghan Choora dagger.
Please tell me, if you look at the ornament on the spine through a magnifying glass, do you have any thoughts that the original ornament on the spine closer to the handle was erased for some reason? Perhaps the new rough ornament was applied later?

Very interesting observation! Thank you!

The blade has indeed two types of engravings:
- the flowers, very intricate, precise and quite deep of almost certain Persian origin and,
- the geometrical, rather crude and shallow, almost certainly added later.

There are no traces of overlapped engravings anywhere on the blade but it is possible the spine was originally not decorated on all its length.

It may be an antique late 18th century - early 19th century Persian blade, repurposed in Afghanistan or surrounding area.
