Problem is that you cannot control the size.

Yes, you can. Until a while back, you needed to resize the images (to maximum 1200X1200) before posting them. Nowadays you may post whatever large size you have and the system reduces them automatically.

Excelent, Ed ... both picture and object .
Great early halberd indeed. Have you identified the maker's mark ? I don't find this exact configuration in my miserable library.
The closest (?) i have from your perfect example is this Sempach type one.
