Default small Shamshir / Kilij

Hi there,

I just got this small Shamshir. Overall length is 76cm, blade is 63cm. It has no marks. The grip is made of horn. The blade looks somehow european around 1800 to me. Is the overall sword european and from that time? Or is it an ottoman or perian weapon? On one of the quillions there is a small eyelet, but I think it is on the wrong side for a chain. Maybe it was assembled the wrong site, but from the traces of age this would have happened during its working life.

Maybe one of you can tell more about this piece.

Kind regards
Andreas

As I got the information that it is indeed a european sword, would it be possible to move it to the corresponding forum? Thanks!
