JUST A OBSERVATION ON FORM AND FUNCTION OF THE BIRD HEAD CLUB. PERHAPS THIS FORM OF WOODEN CLUB PREDATED AND INFLUENCED LATER METAL WEAPONS THAT WERE MOUNTED AND FUNCTIONED IN A SIMILAR WAY. THE BRONZE CHINESE GE THOUGH ON A LONGER POLE IS MUCH THE SAME. THE INDIAN ZAGHANAL AMD THE AFGHAN LOHAR ARE MUCH THE SAME IN SHAPE AND FUNCTION AS WELL. WOOD CLUBS THAT PRE-DATED BRONZE AGE WEAPONS ARE NOT LIKELY TO HAVE SURVIVED BUT MAY HAVE EXISTED.
#1. & #2. CHINESE BRONZE GE
#3. ZAGINAL INDIA
#4. OLD FORM OF LOHAR INDIA OR AFGHAN
#5. NEW CALEDONIA BIRD HEAD CLUB FOR COMPARISON
