Default Rookie Koummya Purchase...

Hello,
I bought this on a whim (It was being offered as a Jambiya) and I’m curious if I epically failed or if it’s an ok piece.
I have a reasonable collection of ethnographic weapons, but items from this region are typically outside of my normal comfort zone.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I cannot offer any insight myself. Probably a picture showing the blade will help the experts here.

Hello and welcome to this forum!

For the beginning you may find useful the information provided here...

http://vikingsword.com/ethsword/koummya/index.html

And yes, a photo of the blade would help.

From what I see, it's a good classic mid/end of 19th c koummya so a very good catch.
The blade looks nice we need to see all of it!

Look like you have done a good deal, old one, early 20th century?

Hi,
Yes. Certainly good for first purchase. Much better than my first
A legit type, well used and authentic. Could use some love.
Early 20th or late 19th c.

Thanks for all of your insight. I thought I posted an image of a makers mark on the blade... I’ll repost, forgive me if it shows up twice!
