The Buffalo horn band looks fine on your example.
I like to restore things whenever they are missing, but I prefer when pieces are complete and preferrably original.

I am not unsatisfied with the result on this badek either, but I could improve the quality of my pictures.
Artificial light is really not my thing. daylight gives so much better pictures.

I took some daylight pictures to do the handle and the blade more justice
