Nice flasks. I have a similar Afghani flask with a different method of powder cut off. Activated by the loop on the left side.......pic attached. Also the spout on mine is metal whereas yours looks to be wood.

Yes similar slightly different ,have another one too which i had posted aerlier has the metal spout like yours
