Organizing Collection -- Software Help needed?

I need some software help. I am trying to organize my collection with one page per item, and table of contents. Word for Windows may be able to do this. I can go to PowerPoint, but would rather not.

I LIKE WORD FOR WINDOWS and want to use it if possible.

I can make a Table of Contents that will allow me some flexibility. I can first group by countries and then by piece.

I want to have one big picture on a page , a description and thumbnails of other views of the piece.

My biggest problem is that I would like to have thumbnails of other views that I can click on and bring up enlarged pictures.

I can go to other software if needed.

Presently I am making pictures and have an excel spreadsheet keyed to each picture number.

This is cumbersome.

Any advice would be appreciated.
