This is a Qajar-era Iranian Qameh, a knock-off of a Caucasian Kindjal ( Khandjali). Qaddara is ( originally) a South-Caucasian single edge dagger that also found its way into Iran through Azerbaijan. Stone called very big Kindjals ( Qammehs) Qaddara, but in the Caucasus they are known as Satevari. Double-edge= Kindjal, Qameh; single-edge= Qaddara. |
