I believe this is referred to as the 1889 model. German and Austrian officer use thru WW1.

I agree with BBJW - this is a German "Infanterie Offiziers Degen" (IOD) M1889. To me the monogram on the hilt appears to be that of Kaisre Wilhelm, but I am not 100% sure about this. What is really interesting is how this sword made it to the PI?

The sword is really nice...just the way I like 'em...nicely patinated! and as well agreed , the German M1889.
But!......what bout those '45's !!!! ![]() Thank you for posting this sword Miguel, and the '45's !!!!! what memories!!! |
