Dear all,
The keris competition concluded today with the prize presentation ceremony. Congratulations to Michael for winning the 1st place for the Malay Keris category with his impressive melela keris! It is a worthy keris. The melela keris and other prize-winning kerises will be displayed at the Malay Heritage Centre museum (Istana Kampung Glam) here in Singapore for 2 weeks.Hopefully Shahrial can take photo catalogues of the winning kerises and post them soon!

Congratulations! Michael.
There were many fine pieces submitted for this category. To be the top amongst this lot is really something. The items are place in the inner chamber of this museum.Malay Heritage Centre - Istana Kampong Gelam

The Malay Heritage Centre used to be the place of residence for the royal family of Singapore. So it is literally a palace, now converted to a museum. There is a yellow mansion next to the palace, which was the place of residence of the Temenggong, or chief minister to the sultan. That mansion has been converted to a nice Malay restaurant named "Tepak Sireh".
