The latter could well be the same Pandurs which inspired Crnojanski to write his book "Pandurs" / "Migration"

wasn't aware that the US also had Hussars....silly me

untill looking up some info from a Civil War battlefield I did visit near Peachtree Georgia and stumbled upon this interesting thread of another forum:

perhaps some forum members from the good Ol' U S of A could elaborate a little more on past and perhaps present US Hussars...?
